 Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! We have some updates for you today. Today was a bit of a slower day, which gave us a much-needed breather between our more intense filming sessions. Even though we weren’t on set, there was still plenty to do behind the scenes to keep our project moving forward! Finn and Conner focused on boosting our Instagram and TikTok pages, promoting behind-the-scenes clips and spreading the word around school. It was nice to take a step back from filming and focus on social media strategy for a bit. I helped brainstorm and draft some of our posts, making sure they captured the energy of our project while keeping our audience engaged. It was so exciting to see more people interacting with our content, asking questions, and showing interest in the film! Seeing that kind of response makes all the effort feel even more worthwhile. If you’ve been following along, you know that my team and I are working hard to get the word out about our project. While social media is a great tool, we wanted something physical that people could actually hold onto something that stands out. That’s where the idea of postcards came in! They’re like business cards but way cooler because they capture the essence of our film in a single, eye-catching design. I took the lead on designing them, and honestly, it was such a fun challenge. I wanted to make sure they looked cinematic, intriguing, and professional all at once. Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! While we continue filming and editing, we’ve also started focusing on promoting our project to make sure it reaches as many people as possible. That means setting up social media accounts, building a website, and even designing printed postcards to spread the word! Finn and Conner took the lead on setting up our social media pages, creating accounts on Instagram and TikTok. Instagram will be for high-quality stills, behind-the-scenes clips, and story updates, while TikTok will focus more on fun, short-form content, quick clips of filming, behind-the-scenes moments, and teasers. The goal is to build anticipation for the film while also giving people a look into the filmmaking process. Meanwhile, Valentina has been hard at work designing our website. It’ll serve as the main hub for everything related to the film, including information about the story, cast and crew, and eventually, our official trailer. Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! After these scheduling delays and planning, we finally started filming with our female lead, Olivia. It felt amazing to see everything come together after so much preparation! We started with the car ride sequences since we had already filmed some of the background shots. Now, it was all about seamlessly integrating Olivia’s performance into them. This scene is crucial because it sets the tone for the film, so we had to be intentional with every shot. Olivia completely nailed it. She brought this quiet, emotional tension that fit the moment perfectly. Filming in a moving car is always tricky, but we made it work. We focused on close-ups of Olivia staring out the window, letting her expressions tell the story without any dialogue. Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! As much as we’d love for everything to go smoothly, filmmaking is never that simple. Today, I want to talk about something every filmmaker faces at some point—scheduling issues. While we’ve made great progress on our opening scene, we’ve hit a few roadblocks that have slowed us down. The biggest issue right now is finding our female lead. We originally planned to film with an actress, but since we couldn’t lock down anyone due to availability, we decided to shoot the background and transition shots first. However, not having our lead has put certain scenes on hold, which has made it harder to keep our filming momentum going. Another big challenge has been coordinating everyone's schedules. With all of us juggling different commitments—jobs, classes, and sports—finding days when we’re all free has been tough. We’ve had to reschedule multiple times, and even when we do manage to meet up, unexpected conflicts sometimes get in the way. On top of ...

If you've been keeping up with us, you know that my group and I are putting together and working on a short film about the loss of someone important and the tragedy that follows. Today, we took the first big step toward completing that film! Our opening scene to our "short movie" starts with drone shots and pan shots of the boat parade before transitioning into a car ride with the female lead who we haven't necessarily figured out which girl will play the part. Since we’re still figuring out casting due to scheduling conflicts, we decided to film these scenes without any of our actors for now. Honestly, the drone shots were pretty easy to capture. I'd say the hardest part was waiting for the boats to pass by at the perfect moment. On the other hand, the car ride scene was a much bigger challenge for us.
