Creating The Magic

Image
Hello, Blog! Magic is about to happen! The real magic in filmmaking happens during the editing process. We found our location where our music video for "Homecoming" by Kanye West comes to life. For this important stage, I used my trusty iPhone 14 Pro Max. For editing, why did I choose the iPhone 14 pro max? It's powerful and straightforward plus the resolution is much nicer. It was obvious given its processing power and excellent display. With the touchscreen feature, editing was a pleasure and I could add my own unique touch to every photo. My preferred editing program was Cap Cut. It was the ideal choice for our project because of its strong qualities and easy-to-use interface. The app changed the game with its capacity to produce eye-catching transitions. It gave us the freedom to play around with various effects and transitions to keep our viewers captivated to the screen. I had a gold mine of a video from our days of filming in front of me as I began editing. I had

Organizing Our Videos And Pictures

Hi there! Here's an update for you guys. Shadae and I are stressing a bit but we talked today in class. I tried finishing some things today. I didn't have a computer first period so it was a bit tricky. Instead, I planned things out in my notebook and phone. I saved some videos to look back to for reference. We could use what we saw in other people's or the original one for inspiration. The camera angles and shots for instance. I don't have a tripod but I could ask Shadae if she has one. I'm pretty sure we're going to see each other this Sunday. I'll call her again and talk to her about plans to be 100% sure. I think we have some videos from a while ago. That could be added in as well and might look better if anything. For example, the videos from homecoming last year. That's only if I don't get good ones in a couple days. I also have videos from Miami and areas that relate to showing the citities beauty. Adding those in if we don't have good vi

Editing Plans

Hey there blog! Welcome back. For today's update, I'll talk about what we'll use to edit. In the last blog, I brought up our backup plan. What I thought of was recording ourselves in different places if meeting up doesn't work. I did think of adding other friends if it seemed necessary. Now for the editing, we're going to use cap cut. I've used cap cut multiple times and know my way around it. The app is easy to use and has more options than iMovie. My biggest worry is that the lyrics from the actual music video won't sync with our video that well. I do not want it to look choppy. One solution I can think of would be using Spotify to play the song while we're recording since it still plays through the speaker of our phone. Once we finish filming we'll add the same Spotify version that we used and add it on top to line up the songs. When it comes to the other options, I'm really excited. I want to add parts of the videos we recorded to different

Our Scheduling And Backup Plan

Image
Hey there blog! Welcome back. Here's a quick update. I mentioned before that it's pretty hard for me to go out. One of these days this week I could ask my parents to go somewhere after school to record. On Sunday I might be able to go out for a little bit but I can't say 100% yet. I have to ask Shadae what works best for her as well. With work and the distance she lives, I can understand that she might not be able to the same times I can. Especially since neither Shadae nor I have a car right now. My idea was to record on our own. I know how it might sound but hear me out. If any inconveniences pop up, we'd be able to record our own videos or have someone who could record us and add the clips together. Once we make edits and add the song behind it, it will come together well. It's just considered a backup plan if something goes wrong in some way. We just rather be prepared. The storyboard puts our ideas together and presents them well. I think I'll use cap cut

The Start Of Our Music Video

Image
Hey bloggers, welcome back! Shadae and I are making our music video using the song "Homecoming" by Kanye West. We went through a long list of songs. After a while, we finally made a choice. I created lists of the different sorts of options that we would consider. They weren't just song choices, but they included the places we'd film, what times we'd be available, what we'd wear, and what we'd be allowed to do. When it came to where the music video scenes would take place, we thought of the beach first. There were other places like our school's homecoming, tall buildings presenting the city, and maybe our school. We aren't sure if we're necessarily allowed to film in school. That is something that we're going to have to ask about. Our homecoming on the other hand would be great because it fits the song title perfectly. Not only that but it incorporates the students and has the lights/fun we're looking to add. We want our music video to

Hey bloggers. As of right now, we're trying to figure out what we're going to do and how we'll plan for our music video. We won't have costumes that stand out but most likely an outfit that would match well with the original music video. When it comes to where we might film, our options are either school or scenes to represent a "city". For example, many tall buildings. Places with a lot of people and colors. Shadae does have work and I usually have to watch my brother after school so it's going to be a bit tricky to find an exact time but we are talking about it and trying to make it work. Eventually, we will find some time that is convenient for both of us. The only "props" that we'd use in a sense would be our phones to record but I'm not so sure that would be considered a prop. Other than that, we don't really have "props" that we'd use but we are going to talk it over the next time we see each other. Now, if there

Hey, there Blog! I am here on the journey of creating my music video for AS Level AICE Media Studies. This project is bringing me extremely close with Shadae Graham, a fellow classmate with a strong passion for filmmaking! Shadae was an easy option for my project partner because of her talent for the arts and excellent eye for aesthetics. We both have the same ambition to produce aesthetically appealing material that evokes strong emotional responses in viewers. 'Homecoming' by Kanye West was the music we decided to use for this project because of its upbeat and vivacious spirit. The lively and cheery tone of the song perfectly complements our objective to make a music video that inspires viewers to feel energized and joyful. We are doing Kanye West's 'Homecoming' music video for its original storyline and aesthetic direction, which served as a wealth of inspiration for our own adaptation. We are inspired by the symbolism and storyline in the original video, and w

My name is Alyssa Kathrin Jaidane. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on July 9th, 2008. I live with my mother, father, and little brother. I go to Fort Lauderdale Highschool and I'm in 10th grade now. The last two years were a struggle for me due to COVID-19 since my grades had dropped and I dealt with a lot throughout being quarantined. Lately, I've been doing much better and focusing more on school. I've played multiple sports. For example, I played tennis, used to swim, boxed, did karate, and volleyball. I had to quit volleyball due to my anxiety attacks and medical issues but I hope to go back soon. This summer I'm trying to get back into club sports. Something I've been taking seriously lately is going to the gym. It's been hard but I've been trying to get back in shape and gain weight. Gaining weight has been a huge struggle for me after losing so much. It's been a long process but it's worth it to me. In my free time, I like hanging out

Hey, blog! Today I'm talking about how I made my commercial. I used my phone rather than my computer to make it. I was figuring out what apps to use. My final decision was CapCut. Even though I've only used CapCut templates that I found on TikTok, I got used to the app pretty quickly. I was already familiar with my way around it. I figured that my videos couldn't be vertical. I changed the frames so that they'd be horizontal. I was able to finish my commercial in around 2 days. It wasn't as hard to make and I was able to cut and frame anything I needed to. I learned how to cut everything correctly and make a photo montage along with it to display pictures. Not only that but I had the ability to make little extras about my friends. At one point i thought there might be a watermark due to the app but it would've been fine. If I were to use Imovie, it wouldn't have come out the way I wanted it to. Imovie doesn't have as many options as Cap Cut does. Thankf
