Beginning The Editing Process

Image
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! Today, I'll be discussing the initial editing process for our Final Task. After gathering all the footage from my group members, I organized it into one album and imported it into our editing app. Before diving into title designing, I focused on creating rough edits to ensure a cohesive draft of the Final Task. This involved eliminating bloopers, poor quality clips, and unnecessary footage. Once the rough draft was complete, I began learning how to incorporate effects. Despite initially struggling and watching numerous tutorials, I gradually improved my editing skills. Although there's still more editing to be done and additional parts to film, I'm determined to continue learning and refining my techniques. Experimenting with the editing tools was challenging, but each attempt brought me closer to mastery. As I familiarized myself with the software, I discovered new ways to enhance the footage. The process of refining the rough draft

Filming the Dates

Image
Hey, there bloggers! Welcome back. I've got an update. Noah, Dalilah, Stella, and I decided to meet up to film date scenes. The girls met up at Stella's house to get ready after school. We decided to film a retake of the letter scene because the angles looked off and didn't line up correctly. Dalilah had a hard time at first keeping a straight face but it eventually worked out towards the end. At least for the most part. After a while, we got everything to look the way we wanted. When Noah came, I sat out with him so that we could record him reading the note. The reason for that was so I could use his voice and create a voiceover that we could play, as Dalilah would read. I went onto Capcut quick and checked to see if there were any effects I could put river his voice. If I didn't find anything, It would've sounded very choppy and wouldn't fit whatsoever. I used the "Cave" effect and it sounded so much better. Once we finished with that, we packed a c

Filming Along the Beach

Image
Hey bloggers! Welcome back! We recently went to film at Fort Lauderdale Beach and it was difficult, to say the least. The beach was packed since it's now spring break for many schools. There was so much going on. We originally planned the beach because this is a summerbased video so we didn't want to change it. In the past couple of years, it gets crazy, but not like this. It took us so long to find an area that was empty (for the most part) and clean. Many people have left things around on the beach that aren't necessarily appropriate to be left in the background of our shots. It took us a while to find everyone and get situated but we managed to. As we got things together, we realized how windy it was and our biggest fear of the wind picking up in the audio came true. Once we played some of the clips we shot, you couldn't hear anyone's voice and it would've been so weird to voiceover it because it wouldn't have made sense. We didn't know what to do be

Capcut & Its features

Image
Hey bloggers. Welcome back. I have some new information to talk to you guys about. So I've been going through Capcut and working my way around it. I haven't been editing anything but just looked through the features of the app. I've said it before, I'm familiar with Capcut because of other projects and videos I've had to edit. I do know my way around it but never really checked out every option and feature. The basics on the app are easy to figure out and they are a lot more helpful than something like iMovie. iMovie isn't available to people without an Apple device. Not only that but there aren't any features that would help the editing process as well as Capcut. I found one option on the app that stabilizes videos. Say you were filming and your hands were shaking just a little too much. The stabilizer allows for the video to cancel out the shaking and present more smoothly. I changed the setting on my camera to 4k - 60 which helps the videos as the stabil

Sparking New Ideas

Hey Bloggers! Welcome back. We've got some progress to talk about. Sloane, Stella, Noah, Dalilah, and I made plans to go one day after school to the park and record for a little. Nothing much but just a couple shots for one of the date scenes we're doing. We went to the soccer fields at the park and got some clips of Noah and Dalilah playing soccer and just having fun. Noah and Dalilah are dating in real life which is why we chose them to be the couple for this project. Using other people, especially in our age group, could've been harder to film. Personally, when being filmed, I get shy and freeze up. Dalilah's on the more shy side so we didn't make it as noticeable when recording which came out more natural instead of forced or obvious that she's acting. Noah is very similar in that aspect. As they were just goofing around or playing soccer, we snuck around them and started recording. We went back to watch and got their little hugs and giggles. We recorded som

Extra's & Recording

Hey bloggers! Welcome back and get ready for a new update. Our groups have been trying to figure our way around everyone's schedules. There was a choice given out in the group chat. Since everyone just ignored our updates and messages, Shadae and Sloane sent a text out explaining that we are serious about filming and can't continue with people who aren't reliable. They also made it clear that if they want out now, they don't have to say anything, they just have to leave so we can see what's going on. We saw the shift and were left with a few amount of people. The people who recently left are Charlize Moran, Caiden Abbott, and Gabriella Serra. This means the only people left are Rene, Mondo, Dalilah, Noah, Shadae, Sloane, Stella, and I. We know there's been so much focus on extras but as of right now, we are good with our group. If we find replacements we can easily update that and it wouldn't be too big of a deal. We've decided to start recording this we

New & Creative Ideas

Hey bloggers! We have some new changes today! We found out yesterday that Alex Parrish can no longer film in our movie. His role was introducing Noah to the friend group in our first scene. I sent a text to the group to inform everyone and find a replacement. We do not have anyone as of right now to fill in his role. If anything we will improvise and either one of the girls will or I can. I have been deleting everything that has been taking up space on my phone because the app we are using, "Capcut", needs more storage to produce the videos. I realized the app TikTok has been the main source of storage so it's been taking some time to delete all of those videos. We're still using my phone to record though but if Capcut won't work, I'll most likely be using someone else's phone or iPad to be editing. Figuring out the background music has been difficult because there's been so many choices. Since this is a beach-themed video, we'll be using more upli

New Addition's

Hey bloggers! Welcome back. There's been an update to our actresses and actors. Shadae, Stella, Sloane, and I had made a group chat a while back to track our progress and communicate with everyone. Recently a couple people hadn't answered our messages or given clear responses. We've sent out all the information on dates and schedules to try to find a time that would work well with everyone. Throughout this time, people in our group ended up finding new jobs or had plans set that they hadn't informed us about. This caused us to make some big changes and they expressed how they had no time to continue with filming. We managed to work around that and took those people out, finding replacements. Paige Elzea is a friend of ours and offered to replace someone but has to figure out when she'd be able to so that isn't a guaranteed "yes" yet. Elton Angulo and Riley Scales have been taken out of the group and replaced with Rene Salmeron Reyes and Charlize Moran.
