Decision Blog

Image
Hello and welcome back! In this blog, I'm excited to share our group's final genre decision. Romantic Comedy! We discussed and agreed that this genre is the best fit. We're big fans of romantic comedies, so it feels like a great choice. Being familiar with this genre is a plus. It'll make the filming process enjoyable and smooth. The plot we have in mind connects with our own experiences and those of people our age. This connection makes our film relatable and engaging, something we're really aiming for. One thing we're particularly excited about is the plot twist. We think it'll be unexpected and add an appealing element to our romantic comedy. We will put our best efforts into this. Stay tuned for more updates!

Genre Research: Horror

Image
Hello, blog. Today I'm going to talk to you about horror movies. They have a variety of angles, but most horror films use the holy trinity of shots: POV, Handheld, and Dutch Angle. POV is an abbreviation for Point of View. It can be filmed from the perspective of the creature/killer or the victim. A Handheld shot, for example, helps communicate the idea during a pursuit or dramatic action. The most prevalent shot in horror films is the Off Kilter Shot. The Killer is shot over the shoulder. A closer look at the weapon. Fear in a close-up/extreme close-up. Isolation and fear are depicted in a 360-degree shot. Victims' Vulnerability is demonstrated using a high-angle shot.  Low-angle shot to demonstrate the Killer's might stab Someone Without Injuring Them. The fade to black is another popular transition, particularly in horror films. It is generally employed at the beginning of a trailer to assist in conveying the plot slowly so that tension can be established from the outset

Genre Research: Drama

Image
Hello and welcome back to the blog. Today I'll be discussing the drama genre with you. Birds-Eye View, from above the subject, is best employed for isolating the topic to create a dramatic effect in drama films. Worm's View (also known as Low Angle), is a shot taken from below the subject, gazing up at a scene. Dutch Angle/Tilt is another. This camera angle is usually employed to generate a dramatic effect inside a film and can elicit a variety of emotions. The Dutch perspective can heighten psychological anguish and tension, creating a cinematic world full of suspense and thrills. Drama can become addictive and provide some people with a sense of being alive and creative. Drama can cause the release of endorphins, which are known pain relievers. It can also be pleasurable, which is similar to being addicted to narcotics. Drama is characterized by stories with high stakes and numerous conflicts. Not just any conflict, but one that is compelling, sympathetic, and deep enough to

Genre Research: Adventure

Image
Hello there, blog. Today I'll be discussing adventure films with you. Pan and tilt are two common angles and shots. These are the fundamentals, but you may apply them to other dolly shots, crane shots, and aerial shots. Hand-held shots are common among adventure filmmakers these days. The most common type of lighting is Three-point lighting is a common technique in visual media. The cinematographer can illuminate the subject in whatever way they desire by employing three independent positions, while also regulating shadows caused by direct illumination. The themes of adventure films are something I enjoy.  It leads us on an adventure to uncover our actual essence. While adventures began in fiction, they quickly expanded into film and television as the mediums became available. The protagonist's conquests and travels are the focus of an adventure film. The goal of the conquest can be to retrieve a person or wealth, but more often than not, the main focus is just to seek out the

Pitch Blog

Image
Hey bloggers! Welcome back! We've been brainstorming on our ideas for our film. These have been our 2 pitch ideas: First Pitch:  A teen from a financially struggling family took a job at a place with a hostile work environment. Despite being mistreated, underpaid, and overworked, she endured silently to save for college so she could follow her dreams. Suddenly fired one day, after investing considerable time, she felt betrayed and decided to take matters into her own hands, seeking revenge. Second Pitch: A young woman and man, introduced through mutual friends during the summer, share the season building a connection that blossoms into a romantic relationship. However, as the summer comes to an end, the young man unexpectedly departs for his home state. First Pitch: I'm not very excited about the first pitch because I think there will be difficulties throughout filming. But I think it would fit right in with the comedy genre. It sounds like a good idea to include our friend G

Group Blog

Hey, there bloggers! Welcome back! This project is based on our final task and I've decided to work with Shadae again but we've got two new people in the group. Stella and Sloane. Shadae is great with brainstorming ideas and Sloane is great when it comes to time management. Stella has great leadership skills but she isn't against "new ideas" or "change" like other people I have worked with in the past. Tomorrow we are going to sit down in class and plan everything out. We have to pick our genre out and watch videos for inspiration. I need to find out all the rules and what limits we have. It's already been decided that I'm the key editor from now on. Personally, I've had so much fun editing the videos from the past assignments. For this project, we're learning from the past videos and taking more time to edit. We do not want this to seem rushed or sloppy. our last video wasn't sloppy but it wasn't as nice as I wished. I thought a

My name is Alyssa Kathrin Jaidane. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on July 9th, 2008. I live with my mother, father, and little brother. I go to Fort Lauderdale Highschool and I'm in 10th grade now. The last two years were a struggle for me due to COVID-19 since my grades had dropped and I dealt with a lot throughout being quarantined. Lately, I've been doing much better and focusing more on school. I've played multiple sports. For example, I played tennis, used to swim, boxed, did karate, and volleyball. I had to quit volleyball due to my anxiety attacks and medical issues but I hope to go back soon. This summer I'm trying to get back into club sports. Something I've been taking seriously lately is going to the gym. It's been hard but I've been trying to get back in shape and gain weight. Gaining weight has been a huge struggle for me after losing so much. It's been a long process but it's worth it to me. In my free time, I like hanging o
