Overcoming setbacks
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! As much as we’d love for everything to go smoothly, filmmaking is never that simple. Today, I want to talk about something every filmmaker faces at some point—scheduling issues. While we’ve made great progress on our opening scene, we’ve hit a few roadblocks that have slowed us down. The biggest issue right now is finding our female lead. We originally planned to film with an actress, but since we couldn’t lock down anyone due to availability, we decided to shoot the background and transition shots first. However, not having our lead has put certain scenes on hold, which has made it harder to keep our filming momentum going. Another big challenge has been coordinating everyone's schedules. With all of us juggling different commitments—jobs, classes, and sports—finding days when we’re all free has been tough. We’ve had to reschedule multiple times, and even when we do manage to meet up, unexpected conflicts sometimes get in the way. On top of that, the weather has thrown in its own set of challenges. The wind made it really difficult to get stable roller shots for the car scene, and now we’re watching the forecast carefully before scheduling our next shoot. We don’t want to waste a filming day if conditions aren’t right. Even with these setbacks, we’re not letting them stop us. Instead of pausing the project, we’re using this time to edit the footage we’ve already captured while working out a new filming schedule. We’re staying optimistic and adapting as we go! Thanks for reading! Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing an update on our final choice for the female lead, along with the filming of some key scenes. Hope to see you then!
