Final touches

 Hey everyone! Welcome back to the blog! We’re officially in the final stretch of production, and I couldn’t be more excited! After spending time editing with Conner and reviewing everything with the team, we realized that there were still a few small pieces missing so we planned some extra filming to make sure the film is as strong as possible. Editing has been such a rewarding process, but it also makes you hyper-aware of what’s working and what still needs a little fixing. As Conner and I went through the footage, we noticed a few shots that could use better transitions or extra coverage to make certain scenes feel smoother. Sometimes, things that seem perfect during filming don’t quite translate the same way once you start piecing it all together. That’s why reshoots and pick-up shots are so important! After reviewing everything as a group, we made a list of what still needed to be filmed. Small details like reaction shots, extra cutaways, and a couple of filler scenes to make the pacing feel just right. It wasn’t a full-blown shoot day like before, but it was still crucial to making the film feel polished. The great part is that since we’re already deep into editing, we know exactly what we need, so we don’t have to waste time filming extra stuff that won’t make it into the final cut. It felt good to be back behind the camera, even just for these last few shots. We made sure the lighting and framing matched our original footage, so everything looks seamless when edited together. Seeing those final clips drop into place in the timeline was so satisfying. It’s amazing how even the smallest additions can make a huge difference. Now, we’re heading into the final round of editing, where we’ll be fine-tuning everything. Adjusting colors, working on sound design, and making sure every transition is as smooth as possible. It’s crazy to think about how far we’ve come, and I’m so proud of our entire team for sticking with it through all the challenges. That’s all for today’s update!
