Spreading the word about our film
Hey everyone! Welcome back to the final blog for our short film journey! It’s crazy to think how far we’ve come. From brainstorming ideas to filming long hours and now, focusing on promoting our finished project. Bringing this film to life has been such an incredible experience, but as we’ve learned, making the film is only half the battle. Getting people to see it is just as important! A big part of our promotional efforts has been the film’s website, which Valentina has been doing an amazing job managing. She’s been keeping it updated with blog posts, cast bios, and behind the scenes content. We’re also working on adding a countdown to the release, which will hopefully build some excitement. The biggest challenge has been driving traffic to the site. We’ve been linking it everywhere. Our social media bios, QR codes on promo materials, but making sure people actually visit and stay engaged takes a lot more effort than we expected. On the physical side of promotions, I’ve been in charge of designing postcards to spread the word about our film. These postcards feature an eye-catching scene from the film along with a QR code linking directly to our website and social media. The tricky part has been figuring out the best spots to distribute them. We’ve left them at coffee shops, around school, and in creative spaces, but making sure they actually reach the right audience has been a bit of a challenge. We’ve also been diving into other marketing tactics like reaching out to local film communities, using word of mouth, and networking with fellow filmmakers and influencers who might help share our project. It’s been a learning experience, but seeing people react to our content and get excited about the film has made all the effort worth it. Even though promotion can feel just as intense as making the film itself, we’re all so proud of what we’ve created and can’t wait to finally share it with you! Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey, read these blogs, supported us on social media, or simply shared our project with others. We truly appreciate it! Stay tuned for the release. We hope you love the film as much as we do! Until next time, Alyssa!!
